CLERK OF COURTS - ORPHAN COURT

The Prothonotary is elected to serve a four year term as the legal custodian of civil documents filed with the Lawrence County Court of Common Pleas.  The Prothonotary's filing duties are set by Pennsylvania statutes, the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure, and the Lawrence County Local Rules of Court.

This office maintains accurate indices, case dockets, record keeping security and provides user-friendly access to the same for the public.   As a courtesy to the public, the Prothonotary also maintains a passport office which assists local citizens in obtaining passports for international travel and related matters.

As an office holder, it is a privilege to have the title of Prothonotary, Clerk of Courts and Orphan Court serving the citizens of Lawrence County.  I take pride in recent office improvements such as the latest technological acquisitions utilizing optical imaging systems, as well as on-line access of office records for the public, attorneys and Judges. These improvements deliver more expedient and enhanced services at a much lower cost to the public.

The Office of the Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts is a challenging job requiring constant attention to laws and the needs of citizens for which I am truly honored to serve.

My staff and I will continue to find new ways to serve the public in a more efficient and cost effective manner.
